Completed in 1972, the Phillips Exeter Academy Library is one of Louis Kahn’s most celebrated works. Its monumental brick exterior and light-filled central void make everyday study feel ceremonial, while its carefully ordered geometry shows Kahn’s belief that a building should reveal how it is made.
